We featured these super fun crayons before in round shapes, but this year we decided to make them for M’s valentines and add glitter (because what were we thinking ever NOT using glitter on a project). They turned out amazing and M is so excited to hand them out at school!
Hearth Shaped Baking Sheet
Index Cards or Paper of your choice
Stamps and Stamp Pad
Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
Collect all of your used crayons from around the house and peel the paper of of them.
Sprinkle glitter into each section of the baking pan.
Break each crayon into a few small pieces. Put the crayon pieces into the sections of the pan. We tried to keep similar colors together ie. blues, grays, greens. You can arrange the colors however you like, though. Each section should have enough crayon pieces that the bottom is completely covered.
Put the pan in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes on 300 degrees. Carefully take out of the oven so that you do not mix the colors when they are liquified and warm. Let the pan cool completely and then put into the freezer for about an hour. When the pan comes out of the freezer, the crayons will pop right out of the pan.
Stamp your message on your cardstock or index cards. We used the message “You are my favorite color”.
Attach your crayon to the paper with a small piece of double sided tape or a glue dot. Wrap your twine around it and tie with a bow. Give to someone you love.
Red twine is from porfavour!
