Happy 2012! What a great holiday season it was. And now it is back to the routine, which I kind of love. I did not make any real resolutions this year. I guess I made one. To hug more. I am not a hugger and sometimes I think it hurts people’s feelings, so I am going to try to hug more and hug like I want to, I will fake it until I really do want to. And if you are reading this and I hug you in the near future, just know that you are one of the people that I actually do want to hug. Then it won’t be awkward. I am also going to be open to new things this year and not get caught up in trying to do everything perfectly and two days ahead of time. Just let each day take me where it will. Doesn’t that sound fun? I did Kundalini Yoga this morning and did lots of chanting, thought I would be shy, but I LOVED it. Can’t wait to go back.(felt the same about spray tanning when I went a week ago, too) Wonder what tomorrow will bring?
This past weekend we watched Forks Over Knives . Interesting documentary on the connection between animal based foods and degenerative diseases. Very enlightening for sure. I would love by the end of the year to have our family down to just a couple of meat dishes a week. I think if there was no such thing as bacon on the planet, we could be total vegetarians. Speaking of bacon, tonite’s dinner is from SpoonForkBacon and looks delicious. Quinoa Cakes & I am going to add a salad with butter leaf lettuce, orange segments, avocado, green onion, sliced almonds and a balsamic vinaigrette. Sounds pretty good right? Photo is from SpoonForkBacon. Recipe is here.
