We had the most fantastic superhero party for my dad this year, his 60th! The idea started kind of as a joke because my nephews had just had a superhero party and my sister in law had lots of stuff left over that we could use. But then we realized that our dad is our hero and it seemed to be perfectly fitting. It was a BLAST. Anytime grown men show up to your party in tights, you know that it is a hit. Enjoy the photos and party tips are at the bottom.
I purchased a party kit from One Charming Party for the little tags we put on wooden skewers and stuck in the cake, hot dogs and veggies. They were super cute.
I went to a comic store and purchased a bright superhero comic book. I cut that into triangles, glued it onto bright red ribbon and hung it out on the patio as a banner, it was so cute and I am so sad we did not get a photo of it. The other banner was made from fun scrapbook paper and twine.
The tablecloths were just striped fabric from Ikea, they have it in a few different colors and I love it!
We kept the food very “Costco simple” and used red plastic cups (of course with the obligatory retro striped straws). The balloon dance party and superhero Congo line were the hits of the party for sure.
Simple, fun and made our superhero feel super special!
